Creating Your Bucket List – Hope, Fun, and the End of the World
What do you want to do before the world ends?
In this interactive session, we’ll explore how big, global problems—like climate change, nuclear threat, and forever chemicals (PFAS)—can leave us feeling powerless or overwhelmed. But instead of getting stuck in despair, this workshop offers a creative and surprisingly fun way to respond by imagining the life we most want to live and writing it down.
This workshop begins by naming and normalising the worries many teens feel about the state of the world. Then, through a reflective bucket list activity, participants will be guided to write 20 personal goals or dreams for their lives. After that, we’ll share ideas in a supportive group format so each person can round out their list with 10 new inspirations—giving everyone a full 30-point vision for life.
Participants will leave with a physical list, practical encouragement, and maybe even new accountability buddies. The overarching message? If the world feels like it’s collapsing, we might as well enjoy ourselves and keep caring about the future. Staying connected to joy and purpose isn’t a distraction—it might just be the superpower we need to face the universe and shape what comes next.
This aligns with the theme Mensa Swallows Universe by helping young minds digest the enormity of global problems and turn them into personal action, hope, and meaning.
